350 x Keep swinging web log

This weekend the Keep swinging web log is one year online. It started as an experiment to find a place where I could share my passion in jazz music and related subjects. I started to post my contributions on the 19th of February 2006 and I succeeded to make it to a daily routine job, with around 110 visitors daily.

Thanks to my amigo Joergen, nick named Jo Ergen, who became my co-author in the background, this web log was never interrupted. Thanks to his support the web log could continue at days I was unable to post my daily shares, due to holidays or other reasons. Thanks for that Jo and for your support.

(BTW: Can you help me next week with some contributions as I have to refurbish the house of my brother-in-law'and will be unable to post my part? - I let you know ) Our common passion, good music, like Oscar Aleman's musical heritage and the Brazilian choro music makes that his contributions always link up with mine perfectly.

I love to share with you two web logs he manages, in which he shares his adorations. I have posted two film fragments which illustrate the subjects.

The fragment in which you see Oscar Aleman sitting in a hotel room playing his guitar is from the film El Idolo del Tango from 1948 and Jo posted it, just a few days ago, in his blog. Congratulations Jo, with this scoop !!

The social aspect of Choro music is one of the major elements in this kind of Brazilian music. I like the dog barking through this Roda de Choro, played by the Sexteto Folha Seta, which gives this kind of music an element free of engagements.

Dit weekend bestaat mijn Keep swinging web log één jaar. Ik begon ermee als een probeersel om een plek te hebben waar ik zaken, die me bezig hielden op het gebied van jazz en aanverwante curiosa ( zoals Pim Gras dat zo mooi kon benoemen ) kwijt kon. Ik begon op 19 februari 2006 met een aantal bezoekers en momenteel bezoeken gemiddeld zo'n 110 bezoekers per dag mijn dagelijkse web log.
Dankzij mijn vriend Joergen, ook wel Jo Ergen genoemd, die mijn hulp en toeverlaat op de achtergrond werd, hoefde deze web log geen dag verstek te laten gaan. Dankzij zijn bijdragen werd de web log ook keurig verzorgd op die dagen dat ik bijvoorbeeld op vakantie was.

( Kun je volgende week een paar dagen de weblog overnemen Jo; We moeten gaan klussen bij onze zwager !! Ik laat je nog wel weten wanneer ) Onze gemeenschappelijke interesses, goede muziek, zoals de muzikale nalatenschap van Oscar Aleman en de Braziliaanse choro muziek zorgden er voor dat zijn bijdragen altijd naadloos in het geheel pasten. Ik wil vandaag graag zijn web logs met jullie delen, steeds voorafgegaan door een fragment van een filmpje, waarin het onderwerp geillustreerd wordt.

Dit fragment, waarin Oscar Aleman in een hotelkamer zit en gitaar speelt komt uit de film El Idolo del Tango en is uniek, omdat er niet veel bewegende beelden van Aleman zijn. Jo was me net een paar dagen voor door dit filmpje op zijn web log te plaatsen. Gefeliciteerd met deze primeur, Jo!!

Ik denk dat het sociale aspect van de Choro muziek ons allebei wel het meeste aanspreekt en dat komt goed tot uitdrukking in de blaffende hond dwars door deze Roda de Choro heen, gemaakt tijdens een informeel treffen van het sexteto Folha Seca ergens in Brazilie.
