Four Toppers

A short fragment today of a vocal group, named The Four Toppers, who performed in the 1940 short film Mystery in Swing, produced by Arthur Dreifuss. In the film this vocal group, which has Steve Gibson as one of the members, sings Jump, the Water's Fine and another song, that is not in the fragment below Let's Go To A Party. Steve Gibson became famous by his 1950s band The Five Red Caps. The band behind the speaker, Ross DiMaggio, is prob. Cee Pee Johnson's Orchestra.

Vandaag een kort fragment van een zanggroepje, genaamd The Four Toppers, die in 1940 in een korte film optraden, Mystery in Swing, geproduceerd door Arthur Dreifuss. In de film zingt het groepje, waarin we Steve Gibson herkennen, het nummer Jump, The Water's Fine en Let's Go To A Party, dit laatste nummer is niet te zien in het fragment. Steve Gibson werd later in de jaren vijftig beroemd met zijn groep The Five Red Caps. De band op de achtergrond van de aankondiger Ross DiMaggio, is waarschijnlijk het orkest van Cee Pee Johnson.
