I played one of the great compilation I have from Clifford Brown. It's the 2CD Clifford Brown and Max Roach - Alone Together ( The Best Of The Mercury Years).
For me, this 2CD should be in my suit case if I leave to an uninhabited island.
Clifford Brown died in 1956 at a road accident; he had a short but great carreer in music and his style of trumpet playing became an example for a lot of others.
Due to the fact that he passed away so early there are but a few films of him. According to the comment of the fragment below, there is only one shot where he is to see. It is a fragment of an early 1956 TV show ( Soupy Sales TV Show) and he plays Lady Be Good and Memories of You.

De verzamel dubbel CD Alone Together van Clifford Brown and Max Roach ( The Best Of The Mercury Days) krijgt zeker een plaatsje in mijn koffer als ik vertrek naar een ver onbewoond tropisch eiland.
Het is voor mij een heerlijke plaat met prima muziek gespeeld door één van de meest talentvolle jazz trompettisten uit de vijftiger jaren.
Er zitten een heleboel prima nummers op deze verzamel CD. Zo hou ik van Joy Spring uit 1954 en Cherokee, dat ook op A Study In Brown te horen is.
Clifford Brown heeft maar een relatief korte carriere kunnen maken, maar wel tientallen trompettisten na hem beinvloed.
Hij overleed in 1956 ten gevolge van een verkeersongeval. Daardoor zijn er weinig filmfragmenten van hem overgebleven; en als ik het commentaar bij onderstaand fragment mag geloven, slechts één kort fragment uit een TV show begin 1956.
