Het liefdewerk van de websites

The Jazz Bulletin of the Dutch Jazz Archive in Amsterdam published this week an article from Remco Takken titled Het liefdewerk v@n de websites, in which it states the fact that the last five years the number of web logs with discographies, photo collections and reviews of concerts has grown excessively.
In the article the contributors are labeled as fanatical individuals making specialistic or weird web sites.

I don't know if I have to read these words in a positive way, but I'm convinced that as long as we live in a society where culture seems to be equal to the taste of the majority and the megabucks tell you what we should like or dislike on stage or TV, we need these kind of fanatical individuals to spread their passion as a kind of compensation.

I love to announce you that this is my 250th daily web log. I started this on the 18th of February 2006 and since that day I posted these blogs in a daily scedule. Thanks to my friend Joergen, who replaced me at moments that I was unable to post my blogs, and of course the Blogger webmasters, who were always online, this daily blog has been published without any break.

I got a lot of positive commends, some in my mail box, others in personal talks. Thanks to Joergen for his never lasting enthousiasm and James for his coffee and constructive remarks. As I stil have a lot to share with you and never found myself in a 6.00 o'clock a.m. writers block I will continue this great way to share my passions with you.

I hope that the ca. 50 daily visitors from all over the world, will continue to feed me with their subjects, ideas and commends to share our common passions.

Het Jazz Bulletin van het Nederlands Jazzarchief in Amsterdam, een mooi vormgegeven informatief blad, publiceerde deze week een artikel getiteld: Het liefdewerk v@n de websites, waarin Remco Takken constateert dat in vijf jaar tijd het aantal web logs met discografieën, fotoverzamelingen en concertagenda's flink gestegen is. In het artikel worden de makers betiteld als fanatieke eenlingen, die sites van specialistische of obscurantistische gehalte bijhouden.

Ik weet niet of deze bewoordingen van Remco Takken als positief gelezen moeten worden, maar ik ben ervan overtuigd dat, zolang we in een maatschappij leven waarin cultuur gelijk staat aan de smaak van de meerderheid, gecreeërd door het grote geld, die vertellen wat we mooi moeten vinden op het podium of de TV, dit soort gepassioneerde fanatieke eenlingen nodig zijn om tegenwicht te geven.

Ik vind het leuk om te vertellen dat dit mijn 250ste dagelijkse web log.is. Deze Keepswinging weblog werd gestart op 18 februari 2006 en is, dankzij Joergen Larsen, die me verving als ik vakantie had, dagelijks verschenen. Natuurlijk is ook een woord van dank verschuldigd aan de webmasters van Blogger, die dit dagelijks mogelijk hebben gemaakt, zodat geen dag gemist hoefde te worden.

Ik heb de afgelopen tijd een heleboel leuke reacties gehad, sommige per mail andere in gesprekken. Voor een groeiend aantal mensen is deze web log een klein vast onderdeeltje geworden van hun dag.

Dank Joergen voor je nooit verslappend enthousiasme en James voor de koffie en de kritische noten. Aangezien ik nog steeds veel te vertellen heb en wil delen met anderen en nog nooit om 6 uur 's morgens in een zgn. writers block beland ben, ga ik daarmee door. Ik hoop dat de gemiddeld 50 dagelijkse bezoekers uit de hele wereld me blijven inspireren met hun nieuwtjes, opmerkingen en ideeën.
