El mejor homenaje a un gran artista, a traves de la música, de la mano de su nieta, la cantante Jorgelina Alemán, acompañada por grandes músicos y con la participación especial del Guitarrista Ricardo Pellican.

The most important tribute to a great artist in music, by his granddaughter and vocalist, Jorgelina Alemán, accompanied by skilled musicians like Ricardo Pellican.
Oscar Alemán: Nacido el 20 de Febrero de 1909, en la República Argentina. Oriundo de Machagai, provenía de una familia de músicos. Guitarrista, showman, un gran artista que desde Machagai, El Chaco, se proyectó al mundo y volvió triunfante a su país.
Oscar Alemán: Born on the 20th of February 1909 in the small town of Machagui in the republic of Argentinia as a member of a musical family. A child born in a musical family. Guitar player, showman, known in all parts of the world, who scored triumphes in his own country.

As planned by the undersecretary for culture in Machagai City, Mrs. Favia Calvo together with Mr. Eduardo Centurión and the mayor of the city of Machagai, Mr Hector Justino Vega and his wife Marisol, supported by the Culture Secretary of Chaco, headed by professor Francisco Romero, we traveled to the Chaco region on February 19th to perform two shows, one in Machagai City on February the 20th, and the other in Resistencia City on February 21st.

India Morena Aleman (Oscar's daughter) and Juan Manuel Miguez (Oscar's great grand child) where invited too and came all the way from Buenos Aires. Guitar player Juan Martinez and pianist Daniel Cossarini were also part of the show. Alejandro Ruiz and Gabriel Vignoli played in the rhythm section, on bass and drums respectively. Guest stars were Juan Manuel Miguez (guitar), Eduardo Centurión ( piano), Alejandro De Salvo, a Tanduil resident, who plays his instrument like a real Alemaniac; in the style of Oscar (guitar), Flavia Calvo and Lucrecia García ( singers)

It is remarkable to learn with how much enthusiasm this homage due to the fact that Oscar Aleman was born here 100 years ago was organized and it was good to learn that the interest of the audience for the concerts increased. Both shows were packed to the doors and people had to remain standing as there were no more seats available; the organizers were amazed about that and the number of people was beyond their wildest expectations.

It would be great if these kind of concerts would be held more frequently in the Chaco province in the future. Perhaps these festivities shook the people of Chaco awake and they remembered the great master Oscar Alemán and, above all, the fact that he was from Chaco and was one of them; a lot of people realized that for the very first time.

The local authorities of Machagai City proclaimed February the 20th as el día de la Ciudad de Machagai, the Day of the City of Machagai, a day to celebrate Oscar Aleman’s birthday and to promote the city. In the city of Resitencia, where the second show was scedulded, the Cultural Centre will be refurbished and extended and when this has been finished this venue will be renamed after Oscar Alemán too.

Of course we hope, that these festivities and initiatives might be a start to a true recognition of the great guitar player, vocalist and entertainer Oscar Alemán in his own country Argentina.

Het belangrijkste eerbetoon aan een groot artiest in de muziek, door zijn kleindochter de zangeres Jorgelina Alemán, begeleid door ervaren musici in het bijzonder Ricardo Pellican.
Oscar Alemán: Nacido el 20 de Febrero de 1909, en la República Argentina. Oriundo de Machagai, provenía de una familia de músicos. Guitarrista, showman, un gran artista que desde Machagai, El Chaco, se proyectó al mundo y volvió triunfante a su país.
Oscar Alemán: Geboren op 20 februari 1909 in het plaatsje Machagui in de republiek Argentinië als telg uit een muzikale familie. Gitarist, showman, bekend over de hele wereld, die triomfen vierde in zijn eigen land.

Op uitnodiging van de tweede secretaries voor Cultuur van de gemeente Machagai, een stad in Noord Argentinië, Favia Calvo, in overleg met Eudardo Centurión en de burgemeester van de gemeente Machagai, Hector Justino Vega en zijn vrouw Marisol, geassisteerd door de afgevaardigde voor cultuur van het district professor Francisco Romero, reisden we op 19 februari 2009 vanuit Buenos Aires naar het afgelezen Chaco district om twee shows te geven; één in het plaatsje Machagai op 20 februari 2009 en de andere een dag later in de nabijgelegen hoofdstad van deze regio, Resistencia.

Beide shows, georganiseerd ter ere van het feit dat Oscar Alemán hier 100 jaar geleden geboren werd, waren opgezet rond Oscar’s kleindochter Jorgelina Aleman, zangeres en de bekende Argentijnse gitarist Ricardo Péllican. Tijdens de show waren er ook filmbeelden te zien uit de documentaire Vida Con Swing (= een leven vol swing) en fragmenten uit Oscar Aleman’s films, zoals Historia de una carta en Idolo del tango; het publiek bleek er aangenaam door verrast. v.l.n.r: Juan Martinez, Juan Manuel Miguez (de achterkleinzoon van Oscar Alemán) en Gabriel Vignoli (foto: Daniel Cossarini)
India Morena Aleman (de dochter van Oscar) en Juan Manuel Miguez (Oscar's achterkleinzoon) waren ook uitgenodigd en helemaal uit Buenos Aires hierheen gekomen. Verder speelden tijdens de show gitarist Juan Martinez, pianist Daniel Cossarini, Alejandro Ruiz op bas en Gabriel Vignoli op slagwerk.
Er waren tijdens de show gastoptredens van Juan Manuel Miguez (gitaar), Eduardo Centurión ( piano), Alejandro De Salvo, een gitarist uit Tandil; een echte Alemaniac, aangezien hij de gitaar bespeelt in de stijl van Oscar. Verder Flavia Calvo en Lucrecia García, beiden zang.

Opvallend was met hoeveel enthousiasme deze festiviteiten waren georganiseerd rondom de herdenking van het feit dat Oscar Aleman hier 100 jaar geleden geboren werd en opgroeide in deze arme streek. Het was fantastisch om te merken dat de belangstelling van de bezoekers toenam naar mate de festiviteiten vorderden. Veel mensen, er waren heel wat autochtonen uit deze regio, waren op de concerten afgekomen. Ze vertelden, met name aan Jorgelina, een heleboel verhalen over haar familie, haar grootvader en – moeder. Veel van hen behoorden, net als de moeder van Oscar tot de stam van de Toba indianen.

Beide optredens waren compleet uitverkocht en voor al die mensen waren er geen stoelen genoeg zodat ze moesten staan. De organisators waren blij verrast voor zo’n hoge opkomst en het zou natuurlijk prachtig zijn dat deze concerten een terugkerende traditie zouden kunnen worden in het Chaco district. Hopelijk hebben deze festiviteiten de mensen uit Chago wakker geschud en ze bewust gemaakt van het feit dat de grote Oscar Aleman één van hen was; één van hun eigen mensen - iets wat velen zich hiervoor niet realiseerden.

De plaatselijke autoriteiten hebben overigens 20 februari uitgeroepen El día de la Ciudad de Machagai, de Dag van de plaats Machagai, enerzijds als eerbetoon aan Oscar Aleman die op die dag geboren werd en anderzijds om de plek te promoten.

Bovendien hebben ze besloten om één van de hoofdwegen naar Oscar Aleman te vernoemen. En, het kon niet op, in Resistencia, waar we de dag daarna optraden in het plaatselijke cultureel centrum, hoorden we dat dit gebouw binnenkort verbouwd zal worden en opnieuw ingericht en voortaan eveneens naar Oscar Aleman genoemd zal gaan worden.

En nu maar hopen dat al deze aandacht mag leiden tot een herwaardering van de muziek van Oscar Aleman in zijn geboortestreek in het bijzonder en in heel Argentinië in het algemeen.

Oscar Alemán: Nacido el 20 de Febrero de 1909, en la República Argentina. Oriundo de Machagai, provenía de una familia de músicos. Guitarrista, showman, un gran artista que desde Machagai, El Chaco, se proyectó al mundo y volvió triunfante a su país.

Como se había programado y por iniciativa de la subsecretaria de Cultura de Machagai, la Sra Flavia Calvo junto al Sr Eduardo Centurión y al intendente de la ciudad de Machagai Sr. Hector Justino Vega y su esposa Marisol apoyados por la secretaría de Cultura de la Provincia del Chaco a cargo del profesor Francisco Romero, viajamos a la provincia de El Chaco el día 19 de febrero pasado para hacer dos shows, uno en Machagai el día 20 de febrero y otro en Resistencia el día 21 del mismo mes.

Los mismos tuvieron como protagonistas a la cantante Jorgelina Alemán y al guitarrista Ricardo Péllican y durante los mismos, se proyectaron fragmentos de la película Vida con Swing, Historia de una Carta y el Idolo del Tango lo cual tuvo una gran aceptación del público.
Fueron invitados y viajaron desde Buenos Aires: India Morena Aleman (hija de Oscar) Agustina Miguez Alemán (nieta de Oscar) Juan Manuel Miguez (biznieto de Oscar) Además, viajaron el guitarrista Juan Martinez y el pianista Daniel Cossarini.

Participaron en los shows, los músicos de Resistencia, Chaco, Alejandro Ruiz en bajo y Gabriel Vignoli en batería y además, como músicos invitados: Juan Manuel Miguez (biznieto de Oscar) en guitarra, Eduardo Centurión en piano, Alejandro de Salvo de la ciudad de Tandil, en guitarra, Flavia Calvo y Lucrecia García en canto.

Es muy destacable el gran entusiasmo con que se organizó el homenaje a los 100 años del nacimiento de Oscar Alemán y como fue creciendo él interés del público. Mucha gente, entre ellos aborígenes, se acercaron a Jorgelina a contarle vivencias relacionadas con su abuelo Oscar y su madre que era aborigen de la raza Toba con mucho orgullo. Los dos shows se realizaron a sala llena y con gente parada por falta de lugar, lo cual sorprendió a los organizadores y generó expectativas para seguir realizando éste tipo de shows en el futuro en toda la provincia de El Chaco. Show en Resistencia (foto: Daniel Cossarini)
Tal vez, éste festejo, haya hecho tomar conciencia a los habitantes de la provincia de quien fue el gran maestro Oscar Alemán y sobre todo, el hecho de que era Chaqueño, cosa que mucha gente no sabía. Las autoridades de la ciudad de Machagai han determinado que el día 20 de febrero, será considerado el día de la Ciudad de Machagai y todos los años venideros se festejará de la misma manera, por un lado el aniversario de nacimiento de Oscar Alemán y por otro el día de la ciudad.

Otro hecho muy destacable es que de acuerdo a la Resolución Municipal nº 159, a partir del día 20 de febrero de 2009 se le impone el nombre de Oscar Marcelo Alemán a una importante calle de la Ciudad de Machagai. Además, en la ciudad de Resistencia, se está refaccionando y agrandando el Centro Cultural donde se realizó el show del día 21. Cuando terminen las obras, éste centro llevará el nombre de Oscar Marcelo Alemán.

Tal vez éste sea el comienzo del verdadero reconocimiento de un grande como Oscar en su país de origen. Todo parece indicar que se está empezando a tomar conciencia de la importancia que esto tiene para toda la sociedad.
